LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game re-creates the action,
adventure and memorable moments of the Pirates of the Caribbean
mythology in LEGO form, incorporating the humour of LEGO minifigures
and fantastic worlds built from LEGO bricks and elements for players to
explore.


Players can take on the roles of more than 70 characters and experience
the pirate adventure, irreverent humour and amazing creatures of the
Pirates of the Caribbean films, through action-adventure gameplay and
hilariously quirky LEGO cut scenes. Throughout the game, players will
also have the freedom to explore environments from the highly acclaimed
movie series in more than 20 levels. The game features two-player
cooperative mode, in which players each control a character to
experience the story together, and freeplay mode, which lets players
return to levels to discover new items.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game 

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game is a video game in the Lego video game franchise, developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Disney Interactive Studios and the first Lego game from a Disney movie. Released in May 2011 to coincide with the release ofPirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the game is based on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and its storyline covers all four films. The game is available on the Wii,Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Mac OS X, and PlayStation Portable.

Plot

The game spans the stories of the four films (The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At World's End, On Stranger Tides). It features over 70 characters from the franchise and various locations.

Gameplay

Gameplay is similar to previous Lego games in the series. The game uses the same two player drop in drop out co-op mechanics used in all the Lego games. This is the fourth Lego game to support the two player splitscreen (the first three being Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars). There are 20 story levels in the game, with 5 levels representing scenes from each movie. Players collect Lego studs, which have been the Lego games currency used in every Lego game to date. Like other titles, these studs can be used to unlock characters and extras

New Features

The hub in this game is called The Port. From here, players advance through the game, unlock characters and extras, and as players get further through the game, The Port will evolve and get bigger, revealing new areas to unlock and discover new things. Like past titles, different characters have different abilities. For example, everyone (except characters like Davy Jones who can walk under water) can swim under water. Also, Captain Jack Sparrowhas the ability to use his compass, which points him to hidden items throughout the level.Will Turner has the ability to throw axes at targets to complete objectives, while female characters such as Elizabeth Swann have the ability to jump higher than other characters in order to access areas unreachable to other characters.

The 3DS version uses the StreetPass feature to activate sword fights.
